not confident. A coach has to be as long as he is not arrogant and hard headed.

I played center as a sophomore in HS, so have great respect for guys who are really good at it. But we had no sophisticated blocking schemes back then. I like to curse at Brock Hoffman for his penalties, but he fits the position well and wants to get after people. Nobody could ever figure out why I was a center though except me that I was happy to be on the varsity at a position of need. My coach was kind of like Fuente, a stubborn ex-college QB who was good at taking confidence away. It might seem weird, but I ran the 100 yard dash once in my life for a time. That was during a VT intramural pentathlon. Three watches had me at 10.0 after I cut the engine with 10 yards to go as there were four more events and I had not trained at all. That time was good enough for the VT Intramural record then. I don't think I was much slower as a 15 year old and gave middle linebackers and nose tackles a rough time - as long as I stayed low and would get tossed aside otherwise.
