Borrowing some money is just a band aid. The prob lies with fan donations


VT has enough money to compete in the ACC. It does not have the money to compete on a national level unless all of the stars line up once a decade or two.

Borrowing money is not the answer. It’s just delaying the agony. The fanbase either needs to back up it’s expectations with its collective wallet or lower its expectations to something more realistic.

And this is true for a number of programs - particularly as CFB becomes more and more even like the NFL for most teams and going 8-4 or 7-5 is actually a solid season.
