Right or wrong the perception seems to be that Wake is the only

NC without any brand to associate with the school.

Duke - basketball school and maybe Spurrier's first HC gig
UNC - basketball school
NC State - Jimmy V running around the court looking to hug someone after they beat Houston for the national championship in basketball (not saying basketball school here)
Wake - ???? or had a few good moments here and there in men's basketball and football (assuming people remember which pro athlete played for Wake at one time)

Personally I am fine with Wake in the ACC and even 4 NC schools. I have always thought that if the ACC expanded to 16 members, then it should do a north-south alignment with the dividing line at the VA-NC border. It could make things a lot cleaner for scheduling purposes even though the UVA-UNC rivalry would be impacted by it.
