That's an interesting idea. I read a recent article suggesting the same.

Fox Sports put out an article suggesting that the ACC could add UConn in all sports but football like Notre Dame. I like the idea of scheduling 7 ACC football games with UConn. It could make this idea work because UConn would then just need to find 5 out of conference games, and they have UMass wanting an annual rivalry. That would make it 4 they would have to find. It is doable.

For the ACC it would help ACC teams fill out their schedules too. Three ACC schools played UConn last season anyway. The ACC would not have to pay UConn full share, but what the ACC pays Notre Dame is probably as much as the Big East/AAC teams get. Then we get our network local carriage in Connecticut.
