I don't think the 14 ACC members would go for playing 7

annual football games against UConn. Remember UConn doesn't play its home football games on campus in Storrs. They tore down their on-campus stadium so the school could build its $40 million dollar practice facility for its basketball programs.

UConn plays their home games in East Hartford where the Rentschler Field (airport) used to exist. I think part of the airport still exists and is used by an airplane club (or something to that effect). The stadium is small (current capacity 40,642) and located in the middle of nowhere. Even though the stadium could be expanded to 60K, there is no guarantee it will happen since it is owned by the state of CT. Then you have to factor in that New England is not considered a big region for HS football recruiting. So to play a game @UConn would be comparable to playing a game @Wake (minus NC being a more important recruiting state than CT).

If the ACC is going to make UConn a non-football member, then at best I think the ACC would require the same number of football games each year as Notre Dame. However, most likely the ACC would only be willing to give UConn 3 or 4 games each year. If the ACC is going to give UConn 7 games each year, then the ACC would want the option for UConn's home games to be played at either Gillette Stadium or the new Giants Stadium (forget the actual name). The CT state govt won't go for that just like it didn't go for Notre Dame's request to move UConn's home game for a series that didn't pan out because the state govt wanted to keep the home games within the state.
