If April 1 is truly the last-possible day, I don't see the problem.


Interview & search like heck in Feb & March -- if necessary, take a 2-hour lunch for an interview. Take some sick days, or come in late ("Sorry, had to take the kid to doctor.").

Tell the future employers you can't start until early April -- shouldn't be a major deal-breaker. Many companies (between interviews, and Legal, and HR, and paperwork) don't hire that fast. Doubt they're going to decline somebody over 1-2 week discrepancy.
