As for the intended purpose of letting players benefit from their NIL, then yes it's throwing money away. Unlikely anyone gets a return on that. But here's the thing: No one cares about that. It's about buying players and gaining a competitive advantage. From that point of view it's not throwing money away at all. In fact it's the most cost effective "donation" a booster has ever been able to give. Forget waterfalls in locker rooms. Now your money goes directly to signing a player.
Tenn bought a 5 star QB. Jax State of all places bought a 5 star guy. Etc etc. Money well spent.
