UConn would be a market decision more than a football one.
The ACC would look at UConn like the Big Ten looked at Rutgers. Rutgers was not added for football for sure. It was all about market presence for the Big Ten Network.
UConn's attendance for the UVA game was almost exactly the same as Syracuse's attendance for both Louisville and USF. And it was more than Boston College's for UMass at Gillette Stadium.
It's simply a question as to whether the ACC wants to strengthen its market presence in the northeast or not. At one point we wanted to bolster the promotion of our league locally in New York City. UConn would contribute to that especially in basketball. As I mentioned below, they have a contract with SNY to broadcast UConn Tier 3 games. So UConn is on television regularly in NYC. I didn't realize that until I watched the game Saturday on SNY.
