I would hope that the ACC would want to preserve it.

It ebbs and flows with intensity over the years. Lately, it hasn't been heated because with Mike London UVA was so bad. During the Mack Brown v George Welsh years it was a very hot rivalry. For most of the Al Groh years UNC was not very good, so it was not heated too much then. I hope Bronco Mendenhall will do well enough to make it competitive again.

But keeping it going just to be able to call it the oldest rivalry in the south is worth keeping it.
