I think it works better right now than it has ever worked.

The first thing needed was to get the writers/voters of the Associated Press totally out of the picture. The new CFP Committee actually accomplishes that very well. But they still are too subjective IMO. They will be needed to seat the NY6 bowls that are not CFP. But the next step should be a P4 with the conference championship games as the quarterfinals. It then removes the CPF Committee from seating the semifinals. It becomes the 4 Conference Champions. The committee can then seat the other 4 bowls.

Presently the G5 gets one slot in those other 4 bowls. It is their right to detemine if they want another playoff like we have with the NIT in basketball. I don't really have issue with it, but Greg Sankey is suggesting it could cause other issues they may not have thought through. The P4 could insist that they lose that 1 spot in the NY6 bowl lineup. Television will determine what the G5 make on a playoff.

For all of this to happen Oklahoma needs to act and leave the Big XII.
