Should secure UConn now because they are available.
Now that the ACC will have a conference network, territory and markets are the game. This interactive map of what teams college football fans follow shows where we need to go. If you look at just about any county in Connecticut, greater than 60% support UConn football. If you look at just about any county in West Virginia, greater than 65% support of WVU football. Both have strong following for men's basketball as well.
These are no brainers for the ACC IMO. They are in contiguous states. I'd do UConn first since they are not already in a P5 and are available. They pass the academic test too. Then I'd do WVU if they ever came available. The regional rivalries WVU has with Pitt, VT, Syracuse, and Louisville justify that IMO.
