The Pac-12 does have 4 Cali schools (2 public and 2 private)
I don't think the article was that terrible. While I don't agree with portions of the article (i.e. assessment of some of the schools, tiers he places them in, and Notre Dame become a full member), I do think it is a realistic possibility that the ACC could shift to a north-south alignment for the divisions.
If the ACC went that route, then the dividing line would be the VA-Border. It would eliminate the need for a protective cross-division game and allow the conference to have 2 rotating cross-division games in a 9 game schedule. The north teams would always play 1 team from NC and 1 team from the southeast. While the south teams would always play 1 from the mid-atlantic and 1 from the northeast. It may not be perfect, but then again there really isn't any perfect model for a conference with 16+ teams. [Post edited by VTHokie2000 at 04/13/2017 5:15PM]
