If some things are more important than football, then shouldn't that also

include Army and Navy being in the same conference? Remember Navy left the CAA so it could join the Patriot League and be in the same conference as Army. Both schools really like being the Patriot League for all other sports because they align well with the other members of the conference. Plus, they can play each other multiple times in all the sports where a team doesn't play the other conference foes only once per season. How likely are Army and Navy willing to give up those 2 things?

Now I do think it is possible both schools may be willing to join different conferences as football-only members and remain in the Patriot League for all other sports. How likely are the ACC and Big Ten willing to support that option? Also, I do know the 3 academies have talked several different times over the years about them joining the same conference. It sounds like they would be in favor of that plan because of the opportunity to play each other multiple times in certain sports. In some ways, I'm a little surprise the Big XII hasn't explored the possibility of adding all 3 academies as members.
