That's a pretty big leap. all of this would follow restructuring the

qualifications for even being a part of the organization(s), i.e., "FBS". amateur and pro spots sports are full of various categories of participation.

I understand that yours is just an assumption but I don't think it's especially plausible. I think it's more likely that
certain conferences will form their own groups based on budgets, academics, extent of participation, scholarships, how they handle player expenses, etc.; and then structure their own championships.
