When have I ever suggested that the any revisions to the CFP will be done

before the new structure is in place? I haven't, so I'm not sure why you keep assuming that I am suggesting that idea. Also, Title IX will be a very relevant issue when the 2 groups sit down at the negotiation table. As I stated before if the P5 decide to form their own division level, then that will impact all the sports they currently sponsor right now.

If you go through all the current DI sports, then you will see a majority of the non-revenue sports have at least 50% participation from non-P5 schools, DII, and even DIII schools. So for sports (i.e. M/W ice hockey, M/W water polo, M/W lacrosse, W field hockey, M volleyball, W gymnastics, etc.) that currently have very little P5 participation, the schools will have to decide what to do about those sports. I can tell you that eliminating those sports isn't an option because the schools have already invested a lot of time and money into those sports, so they aren't going to give them up. So that leaves 2 options for the P5s:

1. More P5s agree to sponsor the sport so they have enough participating teams; or

2. The P5s agree to rejoin the rest of the DI schools and maintain the status quo.

If they go with Option 1, then how many P5s can currently afford to add new sports including building new sport specific facilities (i.e. ice hockey rink, water polo arena, etc.)? If it isn't very many, then that could influence a bunch of schools on whether they are committed to remain a P5 school or not. If a bunch of schools decide it isn't worth it, then the P5s still have to deal with the participation problem. Also, if the schools add sports, then they better make sure they remain compliant with Title IX.

Basically what I'm suggesting is that Option 1 sounds good on message boards, sports radio, and sports TV shows. However, once you examine the details and the impact of the decision, then it isn't as good as it appears on the surface.
