I would agree with that assessment. If the bylaws are changed

so a conference can eliminate the divisions and the requirement to play a round robin schedule in order to host a conference title, then it will be interesting to see what new verbiage the schools come up with for the NCAA manual.

If a conference does eliminate its divisions and it still plays a conference title game, then a part of me does wonder what is the point of the title game in the first place? I would think the possibility that the title game would be a rematch of a regular season could increase because the teams are playing each other more frequently. If the 2 teams end up splitting the 2 games, then it could end up hurting the conference's chances at earning a Playoff bid because the Committee could feel that both teams have either a legitimate claim to a bid or their claims cancel either other out. Plus, under the current scenario the loser of the conference title game could end up earning an at-large bid to the Playoffs while the conference champion is left out in the cold.
